I must have rubbed my front door rub rail against something or it was hit by some one backing into the bus. I have a small shallow dent in the front door rub rail.
Does anyone know if this is a Prevost part or was made by an metal fabricator ?
I can duplicate one if I have too but if someone or Prevost has the part I will buy it. 9 1/2" tall and 31 1/4" long. Looks like three pieces, top and bottom which are the same, and a center.
Thanks for your help,
garyde

Hi Mike. At POG III there was a session on repair of rub rails and stainless. With simple hand tools and a buffer a person can remove the dent and buff out the rail. Check with a Local Sheetmetal Contractor or Metal fabricator shop. Mango Mike has had the privledge of purchasing new rub rails , so check out is Prevoman site.

International Bus sells rub rails, and some converters make or have their own made by others.
Gary is correct in that you may be able to remove the dent and repolish it without having to get a new one.

Mike, can you post a photo so we can see it and then we can give you a better idea of repair or replace.

MikeD: Hang on to your rub rail. The next time I get down to Modesto I'll pick it up and repair it for you. Were on the road in Indiana now, but we should be home around 10/23. I have to go to the shop in Fremont to pick up my dogs after we get home. I can swing by Modesto and pick it up on the way. It just un-bolts. It will look like new unless it is totally destroyed. i work cheap for POGGERS. ( free )

Harry, my whole bus is getting a little hazy and is not as bright as it should be. Can you buff and polish the whole thing for me?

I think your slight crease could probably be repaired. I checked for your location and came up blank. If I catch up with you I could probably help you.
If you are close to DaleJ he could probably do it also.

Jon: Quit rubbing your eyes so hard, it causes haze. Take two asperin and lie down for an hour, if your coach is still hazy, see Roger, he's in charge of spit & polish.
