Jon, Will your route take you to Memphis ? If so, will you use Interstate 55 to pick up 63 into Branson ?

Jim,
We are going up 24 out of Nashville to I57, I64 to I44 in MO and then south into Branson at Springfield.

Any local information is always appreciated. Are there roads into Branson you would recommend not using ?

Here are three routes from Nashville to Branson if any of you guys are going this way.
The high road is 566 miles
The middle road is 472 miles
The low road is 511 miles

Dale we have been on both of the non-interstate routes. Di actually was getting car sick on the one from Little Rock to Branson because of the never ending curves.
I considered them for a little less than a nanosecond and opted to drive about 100 miles further. The miles will be less, but the time is unlikely to be enough of a savings to justify the route.

Well Tim from S. IL. takes the middle route and its hwy 60. its mostly 4 lane and says it is nice. Just thought I'd try to save you miles.
Tim or I have never been on 65 south of Branson to Little Rock, so don't know a thing about that way. I just didn't know if you knew the mid section route. If you decide on that route let me know, you need to know about a by-pass he said.

I drove this truck from I-40 at Paris, Arkansas to Branson and it is way ugly.

We have driven to Branson a number of times using the US 65 north out of Conway (to the north of Little Rock off of I-40). It is not a bad road. When you get close to Marshall, AR, the road has some hills and gets a little twisty, but it is nothing bad. It generally takes us about 3.5 hours to cover the 150 miles from Conway to Branson. There are a number of small towns with traffic lights. The road alternates 4 lane and 2 lane with the 2 lane winning out.
Jerry,
That truck is awful small - I don't think the Wonderbeagle would even fit. Did you sit on top and use Flintstone power?

Anyone know if any units might be "for sale" at Branson, or if anyone might have some consignments on location ? I have a friend that might be on the "hunt."
Don't think he would be interested in plastic, Tom. Sorry.

JDUB, you can swell up as big as your bus this week, as the Coach of OSU blasted the liberal media, just like he was a Tennessee Redneck. He did his boys proud. You And the other alumuni need to send him an ata boy!
We need more public figures with balls.

I was plenty proud of him. The chick reporter that put the personal hammer on one of the players is a tool. All the Big XII coaches are behind him and all the national media a-holes are behind her. Go figure.
One of the media guys came to my RV shortly after the press conference broke up (literally the second Mike walked out) and played me the audio.
He said, "Hey, Mike sounds pissed". I said, "Do you think so?"

It reminds me of the Movie 'Absence of Malice' . Reporters sometimes are so focused on getting a story, they forget about the 'Human element'.

We had the distinct priviledge of traveling with three other Coachs on the return trip from Branson. A1Jon & Di, JPJ, Jim & Karen Keller, and Micki & Me.
"Things that happen fast on the road and in the bus are usually not good" ( quote from the woodwacker on the side of I-24 near Paducah, Kentucky.)
Thats Jon and Di in the bus in the distance.(upper right corner of photo)

We explained to the cops that they did not do it.
The next photo is Jim and Karens Bus, they were more in the midst of things.

But the day was saved by some serious negotiations (Karen is in the Witness protection program and could not be photographed.)

Roger, you have great photos and all, but you didn't tell esplain, what happened?
Was there a car crash, gators on the road and in the way, or what?
I'm guessing everyone in your group made it through after a brief interogation by the Kentucky Law Enforcement?

Ah, there is a possibility that a major feature article may be appearing on the World Wide Web pretty much laying out the details of the above-mentioned event.
With photos.
I can be bribed.

This is good as it will take the focus off the Turd boys antics.

All I can say is that our four coaches did not lack for police protection while passing through the Bluegrass state.

Gary S. I appreciate your inquiring mind. I am not sworn to secrecy, but I believe Jim Keller or JPJ will have to esplain further. I was just the messenger, if you know what I mean.

I talked with Jim Keller this afternoon; and he is currently at his house in North Carolina and has limited access to a computer terminal, so I assume he will make a post when he gets a chance.
