Don't know how much y'all want to hear about what else is going on the RV business, but here's one that just came across the desk.

Blue Bird, once the El Primo of the RV biz, is not producing any coaches at the moment. They have 4 2005 750 LXI coaches left to sell, which they want to get full value for. Bleakley has 6 of them in stock (MSRP: $750K).

Yet, BB is kicking off their 20th Annual Rally in the Valley October 28-November 1, 2007 at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry, without anything to sell or show to customers.

It is their plan to have a prototype coach at the Tampa Super Show in January 2008, maybe.

Guess they must a) make money on their rallies or b) like to keep doing what they have been doing in the past?

If this is way more detail than you are interested in reading, pls advise.

Thanks.

JPJ, the woodwacker

Sounds like Blue Bird is following Prevost's Idea of making a few bucks at a Rally. At least it's not scheduled for the 4th of July.

What kind of meals and entertainment could be worth 1000 to 1500 lewbucks per head for a few days with a factory Tour & bottled water?

You need to get more detailed info for a country boy like me to understand this big bus business.

You don't need a pickup do you? You could probably sweep up your saw dust and carry it in a grocery sack from what I hear.

Fast Roger:

I think you have it right. If BB doesn't have anything to sell, with no prospects into the future, it would appear that this must be a money-maker for them. It is a head-scratcher that Prevost is so set on their fees without an agenda. It must be the idea of creating a threshold of pain for people to attend? We'll have to wait and find out.

Funny you mentioned the sawdust and paper bags. Years ago I had a wood-fired furnace. It occurred to me that 'wasting' the sawdust by disposing of it in the woods was bad. So I indeed put it in paper bags and tried to use them in the furnace. Little did I know that I was building little bombs as the bags would create positive energy with the ignition of the sawdust.

Blew that friggin' furnace door right off!

Now back to returning the dust and chips back to the woods from whence they came.

BTW: Are you trying to sell me a truck? Sheesh, is nothing sacred?

Whatchya got? (Send PM if you wanna be sneaky).

Since Volvo now owns Prevost the Sweeds may think were going to help pay for their Socialist Programs at home by taxing us. No other explanation for the high rally tarrif I can come up with. I don't do Canada.
