My Generator cranks easy and runs for One minute and ten seconds then shuts down. It will then crank up and do the same thing. Any Ideas? Thanks, Dan

I know this is probably too obvious and you have probably already checked this, but make sure the oil is at the proper level. Low oil will cause it to either not start or shut down as soon as it does start.

Dan, where is your fuel gauge at, you know it will shut down on a 1/8 give or take.

Faulty low oil pres. sensor, faulty high water temp sensor can be the case even if the guages are showing normal. Could be sucking air someplace. Could be the pump itself. Possibly a malfunction in the autostart.

Start with the simplest things first, usually find it there.

Is the generator set on autostart when it does this?

Oil okay, Coolant okay, 3/4 tank of fuel. Going to Parliment coach Monday, will let them start on the Sensors. Thanks for info. Dan

I went thru this with my powertech and it turned out to be the regular. If the generator is not making power it will shut down, you can then start it again but it will shut down. Call Powertech in Florida and ask for Service and tell them what is happening and they will tell you to jump some wire on the regular. This will tell you if the regular is bad.
Please post their response.

Problem solved! Someone should say to me "show me a sign" !! auto start switch was on , who knows how, I turned it off and gen works normal. Sorry to waste youall's time but I live and learn slowly! Thanks, Dan

No waste of time. I bet we all learned something about that !!

Why would the auto start cause it to do this?

If autostart is on, and batteries are fully charged then autostart turns off the generator.

If you have a quiet time setting for the auto-start and you try to manually start during the quiet time parameters, it will do exactly as you stated.

I understand, makes me wonder if my autostart is on, and here I am in Germany and the coach plugged in at home. This is sure the land of great looking buses.
