Fire up yer engines people, for on June 30 in Oklahoma you'll find the 2007 OKIE NOODLING Competition.
Once only the province of native Oklahomans (not sure if I got that right), this competition is: A bunch of guys (mostly) go into the rivers, ponds and swamps of Oklahoma without any gear and catch 30-40 pound large fish (stay with me on this one) by sticking their bare hands into the mouths of said fish and pulling them into a boat or on shore.
The perils of this activity is that some Noodlers mistake the fish for turtles and poisonous snakes.
Headquarters for this year's event is at Bob's Pig Shop, 829 N. Ash, Paul's Valley, Oklahoma.
Not to be outdone by the fancy-dancy 'other' sports, they've got a website and http://www.okienoodling.com/ ("http://www.okienoodling.com/") with fotos of previous Noodling Queens (don't be thrown off by the dirty T-shirts).
Sounds like a good POG mini-rally?
