Learning something new everyday about these buses.

Question is I was looking at a 2000 Marathon H3 single slide and in the drivers side forward couple of bays it has chassis bracing that I have not seen in other units. This makes the bays less accessible.

What makes this one have the braces where others do not?

Thanks!

When you take out 12 to 15 feet of solid chassis and expect the two end points to suports the extension of this bus outward there has to be some reinorement of the chassis to suport this weight extended outeard of the main chassis without distorsion to the chassis without reinforcenment .

I thought the same, but that's not it. A 2000 H3 double slide does not have the bracing that this one has. There seems to be some other factor, that's what I'm trying to narrow down. Maybe the year? It could be a year or so earlier than a 2000 as advertised?

Buz94, I guess i am wondering why you would be asking, is this just a general Engineering question? or does it look like someone made a modification to an existing Prevost Shell?

I’m looking at a coach that has the bracing. It’s definitely factory ss beams. I’ve since actually seen it on some other single slide 2000’s. It may be a single slide thing?

It’s just my curiosity. I had never seen it prior to looking at this unit. It is not desirable to me as it limits access from the drivers side. Trying to determine the common aspect so I can avoid it while shopping.

Thanks
