Hornet 45. comes on at 40 degrees. off at 46. 700 watts. should be a good backup to make sure water bay does not freeze.

I see Coast Guard approved $$$$. Are you adding or replacing?

added. i do have wabasto water bay heat. however, since i will be using coach in the winter i wanted an electric backup while in un-heated storage in the hangar.

nice unit. $150 on ebay. used once like new. retail about 250.

The commonly installed box heater is the "Big Heat" units. They are about $50, but not ignition rated like yours.

What exactly does that mean? What r the paramiters to be ignition rated?

From the web. "Ignition protected devices are designed in such a way that: they won't ignite a surrounding air-fuel mixture if there is an explosion inside them. they can't reach a high enough surface temperature or generate enough spark to ignite an air-fuel mixture."

This is a big deal in the marine world and should be with gasoline powered RVs or those with propane tanks, but it's not.

Is Big Heat the name brand? This is another issue that i have to address.. The wet bay heater is missing. From what i am told when in storage it quit working and a filter froze and cracked.. They removed the bay heater i guess to replace but never did.
