we just got our first Prevost 2008 XLII Legendary #26. I'm needing to replace a couple of the power window motors Prevost part number 790619. Not to excited about $729. each. Anyone found a better price on these?
Thanks

There is a work around. I thought I posted it years ago but I doubt it's the motor. This was a problem in that era chassis. Think how many times you open and close a window. It is rarely the motor.
Take the inside frame off the window and you will see the motor. There is a resistor wrapped in silver tape before the motor, cut it out and splice in a 5 amp fuse in that wire and it should work.
I did 4 windows in my 06 chassis and many other guys made this work.

Bernie, great tip. I suspect the resistor is their to reduce the voltage. It's likely a 12V, not 14V motor. I wonder if a higher current rated resistor wouldn't be a good fix.

Well I'm sure you could try that. We've always used a fuss because it's readily available.

so i removed the window cover piece at the bottom of the window frame to expose the motor & wiring. I could not find a resistor wrapped in silver tape. There is a relay that the switch controls to turn the motor in both directions. Open & close. Did I miss something?
Thanks

Yours could have black heat sink tape on it close to motor. Cut it open with a razor blade. Sorry
Replace with a 2 or 5 amp fuse.
Let me know.
